Draft Environmental Statement

This consultation is now closed

On 16 May 2013, the Secretary of State for Transport announced the launch of a consultation on a draft Environmental Statement for Phase One of HS2 between London and the West Midlands.

The consultation sought views on the environmental impacts assessed along the Phase One line of route, as well as the measures identified for managing and reducing them.

The consultation closed on 11 July 2013.

Dialogue by Design, an independent company that specialises in analysing responses to consultations, was asked by HS2 Ltd to produce a summary report of responses to the draft Environmental Statement consultation.

The report provides a comprehensive account of the issues and themes raised by the stakeholders who responded to this consultation and can be viewed on both this website as well as GOV.UK:

The information provided in response to the consultation has been considered as part of the HS2 Phase One Environmental Statement, which has been deposited in Parliament as part of the High Speed Rail (London - West Midlands) Bill, deposited on 25 November 2013.
