East of England
HS2 is already providing huge opportunities for people and businesses across the East of England.
In response to the Covid-19 pandemic, we have made the decision to postpone all of our public face-to-face engagement events and meetings for the safety of our staff, stakeholders and communities. We have also put in place alternative ways of communicating and engaging regularly with communities to ensure that we can continue to inform, listen and respond.
The HS2 Helpdesk remains operational all day, every day, and is your first point of contact: Freephone 08081 434 434; Minicom 08081 456 472; Email: [email protected]. If you contact us by post there will be an extended delay in us responding to you.

Mott MacDonald creates over 300 number jobs and apprenticeships around the UK
As a result of its contract through Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) on Phase One of HS2, Mott MacDonald has already created 300 jobs, set to double in 2019, with 35% of these jobs going to graduates.
Mott Macdonald is working with BBV on the HS2 scheme design to plan for the construction of HS2 on the West Midlands section of the route. So far 25 apprentices are working as part of the current workforce of 300, getting on the job training to enhance their future career opportunities.
As well as winning work on the Phase One route between Birmingham and London from BBV, the company has also won work direct from HS2 Ltd, creating more jobs directly and through their supply chain.
