What we are doing
UPDATE – We previously contact you to tell you that these works would take place from Monday 28 November until Wednesday 14 December. Unfortunately this work has taken longer than expected because of the sub-zero temperatures and we will need a further day to finish the work the road will now reopen at 6pm on Thursday 15 December.
To build the new railway, the A452 Chester Road between the A446 and the Northway Island is being significantly remodeled. Following the successful and on time delivery of the new northbound slip road, we are now ready to commence the next phase of the work. This phase will require the southbound carriageway of the A452 to be closed from the entrance of Melbick’s Garden Centre to the end of the fly over where it joins with the A446. This section of the road will be removed. Southbound traffic will be diverted up the A446 to Junction 4 of the M6 then back down the A446 re-joining the A452 at a the bottom of the slip road. Please note that access to Melbick’s Garden Centre will be maintained at all times via a purposely constructed central reservation crossing.
These works ere due to start on Monday 24 October and until Wednesday 2 November, however due to the poor weather they will now take place from 28 November to 14 December. The traffic management will be in place 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
