Safeguarding information and maps for HS2

This section provides more information and details of safeguarding along the High Speed Two (HS2) route.

Safeguarding is an established part of the planning process, designed to ensure that land which has been identified for major infrastructure projects is protected from conflicting developments.

On 17th July 2017, the Secretary of State issued revised safeguarding directions for Phase 2b which replace all previous versions, to reflect these route changes. All information relating to this announcement can be found in our dedicated Phase 2b section.

Property schemes

A number of schemes have been developed to assist property owners affected by Phase One and Phase 2a of HS2, and some of them are available to those affected by phase 2b, whilst being consulted on in parallel (see below).

Prior to applying for any of these schemes is vital that you have read and understood the guidance for that scheme and that you have consulted the maps relevant to that scheme as set out in the HS2 property schemes section.

On 15 November 2016, the government launched a consultation to seek views from the public on the proposed property schemes for Phase 2b.
