Stations

Building sustainable stations for the future

We’re building four new stations – at Old Oak Common and Euston in London, and Curzon Street and Interchange in Birmingham and Solihull. These will unlock thousands of new jobs and homes across the regions.

The Victorians built railway stations that were celebrated as ‘cathedrals of steam’. Today, we’re building stations that set new standards for sustainability and design. Two of our station designs have been officially accredited as among the most sustainable buildings in the world.

The first high-speed trains will run between Birmingham Curzon Street in the city centre and Old Oak Common, our west London transport hub.

What these stations will deliver

The four stations will act as catalysts for regeneration and economic growth:

  • Euston – up to 14,000 jobs and almost 4,000 new homes
  • Old Oak Common – up to 65,000 jobs and 25,500 new homes
  • Interchange (Solihull) – 70,000 jobs and 5,000 new homes
  • Birmingham Curzon Street – thousands of jobs and significant regeneration in the city centre

Our stations will provide step-free access from street to platform, with direct connections to local transport, airports and other rail services.
