Our people

Robert Herga was appointed as the independent Residents’ and Construction Commissioner in July 2025.  

Robert is a qualified Solicitor and holds a MSc in Construction Law and Arbitration.  

Robert was General Counsel at Gatwick Airport Limited from March 2010 to April 2022 and prior to that had been General Counsel at airport owner and operator BAA plc where he worked for 20 years.  

Immediately before joining Gatwick, Robert was General Counsel and Company Secretary at Carpetright plc.  

Robert is Chair of the Gatwick Airport Pension Plan.  

Robert is a Member of the Competition Appeal Tribunal and a member of the Competition Service Audit and Risk Committee.   

Robert was a Non-Executive Director at The Pension Regulator from 2017 until April 2022.
