What we are doing

For safety, we can only carry out works next to the railway when the tracks are not in use. We will work 24 hours – day and night – over the long weekend, to complete works next to the tracks before they reopen. We plan our construction activities to avoid working over the holidays wherever possible but need to make the most of this opportunity to work next to the tracks.

24-hour works to Granby Terrace bridge

We are currently building a wall at track-level between the Network Rail and future HS2 tracks. This wall will also act as one of the supports for the new section of Granby Terrace bridge. We plan to start building the extension for Granby Terrace bridge in May.
We will use Easter weekend to complete some essential works while the tracks are not in use. During this period we will work from 8am Friday 29 March to 7am Tuesday 2 April. We will carry out all noisy works during the day, and quieter works at night. We will use acoustic blankets to limit noise and will monitor noise levels closely to ensure we are working within the approved limits.

On Saturday 6 April and Saturday 13 April, we will work between 9pm and 9am to create framework and pour the concrete to construct the walls which will support the new bridge. For safety, we can only carry out this work when the tracks are not in use. Please see the link to the weekend extended hours notification.

Track-level surveys and monitoring

We will carry out track-level surveys and monitoring within the railway cutting. We do not expect these works to be noisy. For safety, due to the proximity of the works to the tracks, these works can only be carried out overnight during the weekend when the tracks are not in use.

For further details of above works please refer to page 1 and 2 in the notification below.
