Update on concrete foundation works at South Ruislip Vent Shaft site

What we are doing

We wrote to you in November that we would be building a concrete base foundation for an electrical transformer station within the South Ruislip vent shaft site. We planned to finish by 13 December 2024 but due to due to other works on site, works will now be completed by 20 January 2025.

We will break out the original concrete, dig down one metre and refill to create the new base. We will use an excavator and a vibrating plate and expect that this will create some noise and vibration. You may experience increased construction noise during these works.

Noise and vibration monitoring will be in place during the works. We will use water sprays to reduce dust generated by construction activities and noise barriers around the machinery to help reduce noise.
