What we are doing
We have been diverting utility services on and next to Hampstead Road, to clear our working area before we begin works to extend Hampstead Road bridge.
We previously installed a new cable route from Lidlington Place to Varndell Street via Granby Terrace, to replace the existing route next to Hampstead Road. Now that we have installed the ducting which will form the cable route, the next stage is to pull the cables through the pipes. We do this by pulling cables between underground cable joint bays located on the route.
From May to December 2025, we will work Monday to Friday, 8am to 6pm, Saturdays from 8am to 5pm and Sundays from 10am to 5pm.
To reduce impacts to residents, there will be no breaking concrete after 1pm on Saturdays and no noisy works on Sundays. We will minimise noise impacts where practicable to ensure we are working within the approved limits. We apologise for any disruption these works may cause.

Phase 1. Lane closure on Lidlington Place – 23 June to late July 2025
We previously notified that we rescheduled this phase of works and now it will take place from 23 June to late July 2025. We will close a section of the carriageway and northern footpath on Lidlington place between Eversholt Street and Harrington Square. We will provide a signposted pedestrian diversion and property access will be maintained at all times.
We will also work within our existing traffic management on Hampstead Road, with a back-to-back closure of one southbound and one northbound lane.
