What we are doing
UPDATE: THIS WORK HAS BEEN PAUSED AND THE CONTRACTOR HAS DEMOBILISED FROM THE SITE.
National Grid is legally required to move some overhead lines, pylons and gas pipelines along the HS2 route.
The new HS2 railway will pass above one of our existing gas pipelines at Marston. To ensure it continues to operate safely and reliably, we need to divert a 350m long section of the gas pipeline. None of our work will affect gas supplies.
From mid-February until late March 2023, our contractor A.Hak will close Marston Lane on two separate occasions. This is so we can safely create five new passing places at various locations along Marston Mane, from the A513, to aid motorists. This is in addition to upgrading three existing passing place on Marston Lane.
