What we are doing
The HS2 Code of Construction Practice (CoCP) provides details about the working hours that contractors are able to operate in. The code sets out ‘core working hours’ which are 8am to 6pm on weekdays (excluding bank holidays) and from 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. The CoCP describes how there are circumstances where ‘additional working hours’ will be required with the consent of the local authority. These circumstances include activity that is daylight or weather dependent, some structural work, essential maintenance and repairs.
Eiffage, Kier, Ferrovial Construction and BAM Nuttall (EKFB), are the main works contractor for HS2 in the area from Greatworth to Wormleighton. The table below shows the working hours for EKFB until spring 2026. We will provide further updates when our summer 2026 working hours are confirmed.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
