HS2 Works Notification: Highway works, Chipping Warden, August update

What we are doing

Ahead of the main work construction of HS2, traffic management is required on sections of the A361, Byfield Road and Welsh Road.  Subject to consents, under temporary traffic lights, we need to undertake the following work:

• Create two bell mouth highway entrances, on the A361 and Byfield Road
• Make repairs to the chevron signs on the A361 Chipping Warden Relief Road roundabout
• Install two vehicle activated signs, advising motorists of their speed on A361 Banbury Road
• Carry out remedial and maintenance work to the existing highway ditch on Welsh Road.

The locations and timings of the works are:

Byfield Road – 1 August until 26 August 2022 
Two-way temporary traffic lights on Byfield Road will be operational off-peak hours during school term time, Monday to Friday from 9.30am to 3pm.
Two-way temporary lights, out of school term time will be operational Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm.

A361 Banbury Road – 18 August to 30 August 2022
Two-way temporary traffic lights will be operational Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

A361 Chipping Warden Relief Road roundabout – 15 August to 19 August 2022 
Two-way temporary traffic lights will be operational Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

A361 Chipping Warden Relief Road – 25 July until 7 September 2022 
Two-way temporary traffic lights will be operational Monday to Friday from 8am to 5pm

Welsh Road – 17 August until 2 September 2022 
Four-way temporary traffic lights will be operational Monday to Friday 8am to 5pm
