HS2 Works Notification: Public Right of Way closures, Culworth and Edgcote

What we are doing

As we progress our works, we will need to close some Public Rights of Way in the areas between Culworth and Edgcote. This is to allow for our earthworks, as well as viaduct and bridge construction to commence.

In preparation for the construction of the Edgcote Viaduct, we will be closing a section of footpath AN5. Due to the location of this footpath, which is close to where the viaduct piers will be constructed, a diversion route is not possible and it will be fully closed, 24 hours a day until the viaduct is complete. Once our construction of the Edgcote Viaduct is complete, this footpath will reopen and pass under the viaduct.

Footpath AN5 will be closed from Monday 11 July 2022 for the duration of our works and until the permanent realignments are completed in 2024.

We will be also be closing Bridleway AG10, in an area between Lower Thorpe and Edgcote. Approximately 300 metres of this bridleway intersects with our construction area where significant earthworks will soon be commencing. We have maintained access for as long as possible, but for the safety of users, this section of bridleway will be closed 24 hours a day until the AG10 bridge is completed.

Bridleway AG10 will be closed from Monday 25 July 2022 for the duration of our works and until the permanent realignments are completed in 2024.

We will be maintaining access to a nearby bridleway, AG9, which also crosses the HS2 route. Bridleway AG9 provides users with an alternative route to travel form Culworth to Edgcote.
