What we are doing
In June 2023, we will be temporarily closing Fiddlers Field/Snakes Lane for 48 hours from Saturday 24 to Sunday 25 June 2023 while we make preparations to build its connection to the Station Road realignment. These works will include the careful removal of some vegetation around where the link between the two roads will be built.
Prior to any vegetation removal, an ecologist will complete a detailed survey of the area to be cleared. Any protected species found to be present will be recorded and the vegetation will be left undisturbed with the appropriate buffer zone established. Vegetation clearance will only commence once further surveys and mitigation can be established to confirm that the protected species are no longer present.
Fiddlers Field/Snakes Lane will be closed between the junctions with Lee Road and Station Road with a signed diversion route. This closure is necessary for safety reasons as our teams will be working on and around the carriageway.
Access for residents, emergency services and farm traffic will be maintained.
