What we are doing
In Autumn 2022, we began carrying out highway safety improvement works to the School Hill and Main Street Junction and beginning construction on the permanent realignment of Gawcott Road, also known as Perry Hill.
During this period, there will be temporary traffic management in the form of a lane closure with traffic lights on the section of road between Chardon and Twyford as well as a full road closure of a section of School Hill Road. Once we have completed our junction safety improvements, we will then begin our main construction works for the permanent realignment of Gawcott Road and carry out the demolition of the existing bridge.
A section of Gawcott Road has been closed from October 2022 and will remain so until Spring 2023.
Should there be delays to our works we will update communities.
