What we are doing
Ongoing works: installation of utility connections and site drainage near the Stephenson Street site boundary
We wrote to you previously about works planned between 13 September and 30 October to install utility connections and site drainage next to the Stephenson Street boundary in our Willesden Euroterminal site. We did not complete these works as planned due to unforeseen delays and ongoing coordination with the rail terminal operations at the site. This means that the works next to the Stephenson Street boundary will continue into December.
During these works break out the existing tarmac and concrete and excavate the area along the inside of our site boundary. We will then install the drainage system and backfill the excavated area. We apologise for any disruption you experience during these works and will continue to carry out the works as quickly and safely as possible.
These works are planned between the hours of 8am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays if required.
We will continue to monitor the works and review our working methods to ensure that disruption is minimised as much as possible. We will also use noise reducing barriers where possible and water sprays to dampen down work that might cause dust. We are planning to complete these works before the site closes over Christmas and New Year (see more information about this on page 3).
Update: works to install pedestrian footbridge within site
We wrote to you earlier this year about works to install a pedestrian footbridge over the railway tracks within the Willesden Euroterminal. The footbridge will provide staff access over the railway tracks between our site entrance and the site office at the ‘breadbin’ building.
During summer we carried out works to install the footbridge foundations. Installation of the footbridge on the foundations is now planned to take place during between 15 November and 3 December for a period of five days. The exact dates within this period remain subject to confirmation. The works will take place during our working hours of 8am to 6pm Mondays to Fridays to 8am to 1pm Saturdays (if required). The dates for these works may change – we will let you know if this happens.
To maintain privacy to local residents, we will install hoarding on the sides of the footbridge to prevent staff crossing the bridge from seeing into residential properties.
Upcoming works: hoarding upgrade works planned along Stephenson Street
We are planning works to replace the hoarding along our Stephenson Street boundary. We are currently planning to carry out these works during December 2021 or January 2022, however the date remains subject to confirmation and availability of hoarding materials and operatives to complete the works. The current hoarding will be replaced with hoarding the same height and colour as the existing green hoarding located along this section of the site. The location of the hoarding will also remain the same. We will provide further updates about this in advance of this work.
Ongoing train operations from our Willesden Euroterminal site
Rail terminal operations are continuing at the Willesden Euroterminal site to remove excavated materials from the local area by rail. We are also receiving excavated materials by rail from other HS2 sites in the local area. You can view more information about this in the update we provided to residents recently, which is available via the HS2 interactive map at www.hs2.org.uk/in-your-area/map
Reminder: online update meeting for residents near our Willesden Euroterminal site on 16 November 2021, 6pm to 7pm
We are holding an online information meeting for residents in The Island Triangle area next to our Willesden Euroterminal site on 16 November from 6pm to 7pm.
Join us to:
• discuss resident concerns about our works in the TITRA area and Channel Gate Road
• discuss measures in place to minimise disruption to residents including monitoring of noise, dust and vibration
• meet our local engagement and Willesden Euroterminal site teams
We will also provide a short update about upcoming works at the Willesden Euroterminal site
We will be holding this event on Microsoft Teams. Please register your attendance via https://online-update-for-titra-residents-nov21.eventbrite.co.uk
