What we are doing

Addison Road is currently closed for the construction of a new section of road to connect the existing highway to the new Addison Road bridge and realignment.
To carry out these works safely and effectively we have closed a section of Addison Road with signed diversions. This is for reasons of safety, as our operatives are working on and around the carriageway.

The new realignment and bridge of Addison Road is now expected to become operational and open to traffic on 15 January 2024.

In order to achieve this date, the bridge parapets will be installed during the Christmas break. Access has been provided by East West Rail over the Christmas period to carry out these essential works. This work does not require any additional road/lane closures.

When Addison Road re-opens, it will have traffic management in the form of two way traffic lights and a single lane closure into Summer 2024. Traffic management is required as our teams will be working in close proximity to the road to complete the construction of the parapets on Addison Road bridge.

When will these works take place?

  • Christmas working hours:
23 December until 7 January (excluding 25 December)
    Monday to Sunday 7am-7pm
  • Addison Road is currently closed and is expected to re-open on 15 January 2024.

Access to residential properties and businesses will be maintained with caution.
These dates may be subject to change due to circumstances outside of our control, such as weather
