What we are doing
UK Power Networks manages the electricity network that supplies power to London, the Southeast, and East of England.
In partnership with it’s contractor OCU Group, they will be continuing the installation of new underground electricity cables in Barnby Street heading along Barnby Street from the junction of Eversholt Street to the entrance of Ampthil Estate.
The works will start from 6 January to 27 February 2026. Working hours will be from 8am to 6pm, Monday through Friday, and from 8am to 5pm on Saturdays and Sundays.
To carry out this work safely, traffic management will be in place, including give and take systems, some parking bays suspension and pedestrian walkway suspensions with diversions to maintain the flow of traffic.
We will be excavating short trenches to lay pipework (ducts), then returning to open excavations at intervals along the route to pull through and connect the cables later in the year and join them to our electricity network.
There should be no impact on local area electricity supply.
