What we are doing
From Monday 9 March to Saturday 21 March 2026 (8am–4pm, no Sunday working), we will be installing ground monitoring equipment beneath the footway on Kilburn Priory, Camden to measure ground movement ahead of future tunnelling works.
This will involve digging two holes in the footway. During the works, there will be a footway closure with a pedestrian diversion and a northbound lane closure between Springfield Lane and Mortimer Place. We will also temporarily suspend some parking bays on Kilburn Priory and Mortimer Place. Temporary traffic lights and operatives will be in place to manage traffic. Some noise from breaking concrete is expected. The area will be fully reinstated once works are complete.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
