What we are doing
Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) is working in partnership with HS2 Ltd to build the new railway in your area. A section of the M58 footpath will be closed from Friday 30 January to Friday 18 December 2026, we have set out a temporary alternative route over this period. The section of the footpath to be closed is marked in orange on the map below and the alternative route is marked in blue. Existing footpaths are marked in black.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
