What we are doing
Balfour Beatty Vinci (BBV) is working in partnership with HS2 Ltd to build the new railway in your area. We closed part of the M54 footpath and have set out a temporary alternative route over our construction period. The section of the footpath to be closed is marked orange on the map below, the alternative route is marked in blue and existing footpaths are marked in black. UPDATE: The closure of this footpath has been extended to December 2026, with a new diversion route.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
