What we are doing

Following the successful completion of tunnelling from West Ruislip to Green Park Way Vent Shaft, we have dismantled equipment that supported the tunnelling operations, including the conveyor belts and ventilation infrastructure. Works to remove the water treatment plant are ongoing 24/7 until 28 February 2026.

Work has begun on constructing the reinforced concrete structures within the former launch chamber and portal. These concrete works mark a significant phase of the project and will continue through to mid-2026.

Preparations for the next major milestone, the construction of the headhouse superstructure, are progressing well. In early 2026 we will carry out formwork and steel fixing works. As the year progresses, we will build the mechanical, electrical and plumbing equipment in the shaft, headhouse and Auto Transformer Station (ATS). The ATS will manage the electrical voltage in the overhead lines used to power the future trains.

In the golf course area, we will maintain the newly constructed wildlife habitat; carry out ongoing maintenance works, which will include vegetation clearance and tree pruning; maintain access to the golf course for the public via the approved footpaths; and maintain the diverted section of the U44 footpath.

We produce maps showing key site activities in the West Ruislip area, view details via the pdf document below.

These maps will be updated on a weekly basis.
