What we are doing
Network Rail would like to remind you of some upcoming survey work that will be taking place from Monday 16 to Friday 20 August at Clarkson Row, as part of their preparation to build a new access to the railway.
Network Rail contractors will be digging some exploratory holes up to 6 metres deep to check ground conditions. They will need to temporarily close part of the footpath while digging these holes but will not need to close the road.
Survey work will also be taking place at track level below Clarkson Row. To carry out the survey and ground investigation some vegetation clearance will need to take place at track level using a strimmer and cutting tools. Any waste material will be bagged for collection at a later date.
All of this survey work at Clarkson Row and below at track side will take place during day time hours only, between 8.30 and 17.00.
Residents may notice some increased activity in the area and some noise will be unavoidable. To minimise disturbance as much as possible Network Rail have advised that the digging of trial holes will be intermittent and the track level work team will be accessing trackside from further along the railway.
