What we are doing
Update 3 February 2025: The below works are postponed, we will update you in due course.
In order to support the construction of the new HS2 tunnels, we need to carry out groundwater monitoring along the line of route.
From Monday 3 to Saturday 8 February 2025 we need to drill a new groundwater monitoring borehole on West Green Place.
We will carry out a visual survey using handheld equipment. We will then drill a borehole in the ground. Once the borehole is complete, we will install a secure cover. The borehole will be located in between parking spaces so we can routinely access it to take readings.
We need to suspend three parking bays for the duration of the work. A mobile welfare unit will be parked in one of the bays. Access to properties will be maintained.
You may notice some additional noise during these works. We will use noise reducing barriers where possible. You may see staff return at intervals to carry out monitoring.
