What we are doing
We will be removing a redundant underground cable around the A418 bridge. As we’ll be working near other live utilities, vacuum excavators will be used at certain times, creating some noise and dust.
Location
A418 Oxford Road, between Coldharbour roundabout and Stone, opposite EKFB A418 compound site entrance.
Duration
1 night road closure of a section of A418 on Saturday 18 April 8.30pm until Sunday 19 April at 5.30am
Single lane closure. The road will reopen with a single lane closure until 1pm on 19 April.
There is a contingency of 22 April to 23 April to complete these works if required.
What to expect
- Full road closure for 1 night, from 8:30pm to 5:30am.
- A signposted diversion route will be in place and a single lane closure from 5.30am to 1pm
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026.
