What we are doing
On Saturday 27 September we will decommission a borehole on Albert Road ahead of future tunnelling works in the area.
A borehole is a narrow, deep hole drilled into the ground to access subsurface for information on underground conditions. The borehole is within a parking bay outside no.18.
We will return on Saturday 4 October in case any additional work is required.
We will place barriers around the borehole. We’ll unblock the borehole, if necessary, then refill it with grout and tarmac over it to reinstate the surface. This will take up to three hours, but the barriers will stay in place until the grout and tarmac are dry.
We will narrow the lane near the worksite. This work may be noisy. We will use noise reducing barriers where possible.
