What we are doing
Postponed closure of Saltley Viaduct
In March 2022, we informed you that works on Saltley Viaduct would likely begin in 2024. We have now postponed these works and they are expected to commence in 2025.
We have delayed the works on Saltely Viaduct due to a change in programme on Aston Church Road. We committed in HS2’s Environmental Statement to not close Saltley Viaduct and Aston Church Road at the same time. Therefore, postponing works on Aston Church Road means we also need to postpone works on Saltley Viaduct.
We will begin works on Saltley Viaduct once we have lifted the Aston Church Road closure in 2025.
