What we are doing
Location
M42 between junction 6 and 7 in both directions.
Duration
Daytime working hours:
between 8am and 6pm from Thursday 16 April until Saturday 27 June 2026.
Overnight working hours:
Between 6pm and 5am Thursday 16 April until Saturday 27 June 2026.
What we are doing
As part of ongoing work to construct the M42 Box Structure, we will remove the sheet piles installed earlier in the programme. No additional traffic management is required. Work will take place during daytime and night shifts, with no overnight activity on Saturdays or Sundays.
What to expect
Low level noise from our works site.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
