Notice of daytime lane closure and overnight bridge inspection on Ellesborough Road

What we are doing

Earlier this year, we introduced a temporary realignment of Ellesborough Road for public use. The new road incorporates a temporary bridge carrying road traffic. At the beginning of July, we will perform an inspection and general maintenance work on the bridge to ensure continued safe operation of the structure.

To carry out these maintenance works we will be closing the road overnight for four nights. This ensures the safety of road users while the bridge is being inspected, and the safety of our operatives who will be working in and around the carriageway. Please note that the existing traffic management on the temporary realignment will remain after the closure until the high voltage cable can be removed.

We will also be completing survey works during daytime hours for two days on the old section of the road which will require a lane closure. Traffic will be manually controlled by ‘Stop, Go’ boards throughout the day.

Pedestrian and resident access will be maintained throughout the closures.

When will these works take place?

• Daytime lane closures (Ellesborough Road)
  Monday 1 July to Tuesday 2 July (8:30am – 5:30pm)
• Overnight road closures (temporary realignment of Ellesborough Road)
  Monday 1 July to Friday 5 July (8:30pm – 5:30am)

Please note, these dates may be subject to change due to circumstances outside of our control but will be completed on or around the timings specified.

Should our team finish earlier than planned, we will open the road when practicable.
