What we are doing
Upcoming works on diversion
Our works have progressed to a stage where we need to close and divert the Celandine Way. This temporary change will divert along the recently updated U43 footpath and utilise the new crossing point over Breakspear Road South.
A new footpath is being created on the western side of Breakspear Road South and then the diverted route will return to the eastern side of the road using a new light-controlled crossing underneath the Chiltern Line Bridge.
A temporary footpath and bridge will be created to allow pedestrians to re-join the Celandine Way to the south of the Chiltern Line (Please see the map overleaf).
Timetable of activity
w/c 13 Sept 2021 – Installation of foundations for the temporary bridge and placement of bridge crane, following widening of road junction
w/c 8 Oct 2021 – Temporary footbridge lifted into place
w/c 15 Oct 2021 – Full Closure of the section of the Celandine Way between U47 and U43 for one week to complete works to the eastern side of Bridge
w/c 25 Oct 2021 0 – Diversion operational
