What we are doing
SCSJV is carrying out utility works to protect the main sewer in Adelaide Road. The works will involve the installation of a sewer liner to strengthen the existing sewer pipe. Once the works are complete, the sewer pipe will be protected while we build the HS2 tunnels in the London Borough of Camden.
Weekend works during Adelaide Road closure
Adelaide Road will be closed until 19 August 2022 while utility works are carried out. From 22 to 26 August 2022 a road closure will be in place on Eton Road. You can view our factsheet about the works taking place during the Adelaide Road closure at www.hs2.org.uk/work-items/adelaide-road-and-eton-road-closure-summer-2022/
Our core working hours are from 8am to 6pm on Mondays to Fridays and 8am to 1pm on Saturdays. From 8am to 1pm on Saturdays 6 and 13 August, you may hear breaking concrete and tarmac, and a vacuum excavator. Noise reducing barriers will be in place around the works area, where possible, to minimise disruption to local residents.
Due to unforeseen circumstances, our team on site need to work extended hours over the weekends of 6/7 and 13/14 August. The extended working hours will be from 1pm to 5pm on the Saturdays and 10am to 5pm on Sunday, which we have agreed with Camden Council. During these hours, we will carry out quieter works only including:
• Installation of ducting and liner
• Backfilling and reinstatement works using an excavator
• Installation of ground supports
• Construction of manhole
*We may not need to work at all times during these extended hours.
On the weekends of 20/21 August and 27/28 August our team will be on-site during the day to clear traffic management, temporary fencing and barriers.
