What we are doing
A lane closure is required to connect Steeple Claydon to Twyford road into the existing highway safely. The works involve creating a new highway junction between Gawcott Road and the Steeple Claydon to Twyford road.
Alongside these works, following a recent safety assessment, it has been recommended that these lights will also manage vehicle speeds as traffic passes the junction leading to the West Street compound.

Gawcott Road, Steeple Claydon to Twyford crossroads.
Duration
Traffic management will be in place from Tuesday 17 February until Friday 29 May 2026.
What to expect
- A combination of three and four-way temporary traffic lights, 24 hours a day.
- Varied activities with both quiet and busy times.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026.
