*Update* Notice of narrow lanes and overnight closures of M42, M6 Toll and M42/M6 link road near Coleshill

What we are doing

**Update**

These works will now finish on 17 July following unforeseen circumstances

From 24 June work will start to install narrow lanes and a speed limit of 50mph will be in place between M42 junction 7 and 9, in both directions to enable the installation of the Water Orton Viaducts and Coleshill Box structure. To install the narrow lanes, we will be closing various sections of the M42, M6 and M42/M6 link road from 24 June until 17 July.

To ensure the safety of our workforce, we will be closing sections of the motorways overnight. We have provided a breakdown of the planned traffic management and associated dates below:

M42, M6 Toll southbound and M42/M6 westbound link road closure – 24, 26 until 30 June and 12 July until 17 July

M42/M6 link road eastbound closure – 25 and 26 June

M42 northbound and M6 Toll connector road closure – 1 until 11 July

M42 lane closure – 7 July (day time)

M42 narrow lanes – 24 June onwards

The road closures will be in place from 9pm each evening, with the road reopening at 5am each morning before rush hour. On 7 July we will be installing an all-day single lane closure from 5am until 9pm.
