What we are doing
The new railway will approach the A45 on a short embankment and a deep cutting as it heads north from the River Blythe Viaduct. In this area there is an important electricity supply cable that is being carefully diverted so that our work does not interrupt the supply. Overnight on 27 November, our team will be vacuum excavating two pits on either side of the carriageway. This will require the road to be closed between 9:30pm and 6am the following morning. The following day, the team will be pulling and jointing the new cable between the two pits, the road can be open while we do this, but we will have temporary two-way traffic lights in this location for safety reasons. These traffic lights will be in place from 9:30am until 2:30pm on 28 November.
