What we are doing
The new railway will pass over the M6 on a viaduct and bridge structure. As we prepare for construction, we will first need to implement a series of safety measure on the motorway. Overnight between 9 May and 14 May we will be installing a temporary safety barrier and repainting the road markings to create narrow lanes. The motorway will be closed from 9pm until 5am the following morning.
From the 10 May, for a period of two years, this section of motorway will have narrow lanes and a 50mph speed limit.
