What we are doing
Following the re-alignment of Welsh Road earlier in the year, BBV need to carry out a CCTV survey of the new drainage system ready to hand over the road to the local highway authority. To carry out these works safely, we will need overnight closures of Welsh Road.
We recently communicated that we were closing Welsh Road, near the Grand Union Canal, from Monday 27 October to Friday 31 October. We have now postponed and reduced the duration of the overnight closures. Welsh Road will now be closed from Monday 17 November to Wednesday 19 November 2025, between 8.00pm and 6.00am. The road will reopen on the morning of Thursday 20 November 2025.
Access to properties, and for cyclists and pedestrians will be maintained throughout the works. You may notice increased construction activity along the public highway with some minor travel disruptions to your journey. Please allow enough time for journeys. A fully signed diversion will be in place.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
