What we are doing
To enable the next phase of construction of the Small Dean Viaduct we will be undertaking a small realignment of the A413 London Road. Once the road has been temporarily realignment it will enable us to continue with the construction of two of the viaduct piers.
There will be three phases of construction coming up that will have short duration impacts on the road from October into December. All works are taking place overnight to reduce their impact on road users and once complete the temporary new realignment will be in operation, an image of the Phase 1 temporary diversion is included in the attachment.
- Overnight lane closure for excavation and installation of drainage
- Overnight lane closure to complete remaining excavation and install kerb tie-ins.
- Overnight full closure for surfacing tie-ins and tarmacking
