What we are doing
A new high-speed railway station is being built within Solihull, near the M42, A45 Coventry Road and A446, close to the National Exhibition Centre and Birmingham Business Park. To ensure the local road network is fit for purpose when the future HS2 interchange station is operational, we have been improving and expanding the existing road network. The final phase of this work is to remove what is left of the redundant infrastructure, including an old bridge over the A446. Before we demolish this bridge later in the year, we will need to undertake some preparation work. most of this preparation work can be done behind a lane closure keeping the road open. However, to install this lane closure we will need the close the road for one night. We will close the road at 8pm on Monday 27 January and reopen the road at 6am on Tuesday 28 January. There will be lane closure in place on both sides of the carriageway until 30 April.
