Notice of piling works by the A38 at Streethay

What we are doing

We have started work on the A38 Overbridge that will enable HS2 trains to travel under the A38 main carriageway at Streethay. We need to start piling works to construct the new section of carriageway and northbound slip road.

Piling work is crucial to ensure the stability of the ground and to distribute the weight of a constructed structure evenly. It is an effective approach to combating corrosion and is proven to significantly improve the life expectancy of a structure.

The piling work will take place overnight between 9pm and 5am from 15 July until 19 July.
These dates may be subject to change and are dependent factors such as weather and ground conditions.
Our workforce may be onsite for up to one hour before and one hour after our working hours, to set up and secure our equipment.

The A38 main carriageway will remain open in both directions during our piling works, however you might be able to hear noise from our activity and the machinery we are using on site. Where possible, we will keep noise to minimum.
