What we are doing
As part of our preparatory works and for the safety of the public, we have previously closed some Public Rights of Way (PRoWs) in the area near Steeple Claydon.
Where possible, we only close a section of a PRoW, however, there may be instances where will need to close the entire length. PRoWs which are located close to or that cross the construction sites need to be closed and diverted in the interest of safety for all users of these PRoWs.
The sections of the following PRoWs were closed in 2020:
- SCL/9/1
- SCL/9/3
- SCL/7/1
- SCL/7/2
A section of PRoW SCL/8/1 needs to close and be diverted as this section of the railway line is being handed over to East West Rail to complete the railway works. The new diversion route for the footpath is being constructed and will be open by 8 July.
We now need to realign the bridleway diversion in order to progress the permanent works design. This will allow EKFB to progress to the next stage of works before the final arrangement for the bridleways to be open to the public.
When will these works take place?
This new realignment will be in place from 8 July 2024. The diversion of this PRoW will be signposted.
