Temporary road closure and delivery of two large cranes

On Saturday 18 June 2022 two large cranes will be delivered to site via Wormwood Scrubs. There will be a road closure on Old Oak Common Lane between 9.00am and 1.00pm. Please see the map on the next page.

The road closure is needed as the cranes have to be taken off of the lorry so it can pass under the low bridge. It will then be put back onto the lorry after it has past under the bridge before being delivered onto site.

Due to the weight restrictions on the bridge on Old Oak Common Lane, which joins onto Victoria Road/Atlas Road roundabout, the cranes cannot be brought onto site from this direction. The weekend delivery date has been chosen with the local authority and TfL due to lower volume of traffic.

The buses will not be passing through this section of Old Oak Common Lane, however pedestrian access will be available. This is not a noisy activity, but plywood will be laid on the road surface to minimise any noise of the cranes coming off the lorry and along the road before being loaded back onto the lorry for delivery onto site.
We will continually monitor noise and dust levels throughout the works. To manage potential dust, we will be washing the wheels of the lorries before they leave site, using dust suppressants and acoustic blankets for any potential noise.
