What we are doing
At the start of January 2024, we will be closing Fiddlers Field/Snakes Lane from the Station Road and Quainton Road crossroads up to Fiddlers Field Bridge. This will be a permanent closure of this section of road.
The existing Fiddlers Field road will be permanently closed to allow construction of the new bridges across the HS2 line and Network Rail line. Initial activity will involve site clearance of the highway with earthworks to follow. Piling works to build the foundations of the bridges will commence in Spring 2024. The new road alignment replacing Fiddlers Field Road will open at the end of 2025.
A section of Fiddlers Field/Snakes Lane will be closed with a signed diversion route. This closure is necessary for safety reasons as our teams will be working on and around the carriageway.
When will these works take place?
A section of Fiddlers Field/Snakes Lane will be closed from Tuesday 2 January until Saturday 20 December 2025.
There will be no access for emergency services.
