What we are doing
As we continue to progress with the permanent realignment of Hunningham Road, we will be closing the road in two phases to complete the next stages of the realignment of the road. In addition to the highway work, there will be a number of utility connections completed to join the diverted services to the existing utilities.
These works will take place from:
Phase one: Monday 3 November – Saturday 29 November 2025.
Phase two: Monday 9 February – Saturday 7 March 2026.
The closure will be in place 24/7.
You may notice increased construction activity with some travel disruptions to your journey. There will be a signed diversion route in place during the closure, please plan your journey ahead.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
