What we are doing

*** Updated notice***

We previously contacted you to advise that Park Lane would continue to be closed until 1 July 2023. We now intend to keep Park Lane closed until the newly realigned Park Lane has been constructed in December 2025. Access will be maintained for residents and for walkers wishing to use footpath M214.

Park Lane has been closed to allow Laing Murphy (LM) HS2’s early works contractor to build a new roundabout and prepare the area for the construction of the railway.

Balfour Beatty Vinci the main works contractor intends to keep Park Lane closed to complete our main works construction activities and make improvements to the road surface by installing a plant crossing. This will allow the use of our haul road in this area.

Haul roads are temporary roads provided within a working area to allow for the movement of construction materials, construction machinery and/or construction staff around the site. Haul roads are Balfour Beatty Vinci’s preferred logistical transport link, as they reduce the number of vehicle movements interfering with the existing local road network and provide the greatest possible control over works activity.

When these works will take place

BBV will take possession of the road closure on 1 July 2022 with a view to re-opening later in the year. The road closure will be in place 24 hours a day including weekends. Access will be maintained for residents.

We will also keep you updated through www.hs2insolihull.co.uk.
