What we are doing
Location
Ridgeway Lane, between Welsh Road and the Grand Union Canal.
Duration
Ridgeway Lane will be closed between Welsh Road and the Grand Union Canal from Monday 2 March until Friday 13 March 2026, the closure will be in place 24/7.
What we are doing
The closure is to enable the ‘launch’ and positioning of the new Longhole Viaduct over the Grand Union Canal.
What to expect
There will be increased construction activity and no through access for cyclists and pedestrians. It is not possible to provide a diversion route during the closure.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
