What we are doing

To allow for the construction of the new railway and to continue to ensure a safe and reliable gas supply, Cadent will be starting work to move an existing gas pipeline near Rileyhill, south of King’s Bromley, at the start of 2022.

What are we doing?

When we start work to move the pipeline, we will need to use part of the existing bridlepath on land south of Common Lane to access our working area. Before this, we need to enhance the existing bridlepath to make sure it is suitable for our construction vehicles to use.

We will be starting this work on 13 September 2021. The work will involve removing some overhanging vegetation alongside the existing bridlepath off Common Lane, and constructing a stone access path to enhance the existing bridlepath route.

We will be using our existing temporary works compound on land south of Common Lane to carry out the work. Vehicles will access our working area via Common Lane. Signage will be installed on the roadside, to ensure safe
access and exit for vehicles.

There will be 24-hour security on site so we can maintain a safe working environment. Please note, there will be no on-site lodging.

How will this affect you?

We will be securing our working area with fencing, meaning that we can keep the Public Right of Way open. You may notice some people and equipment on site while we carry out the works. There will not be any disruption to your utilities during our works.
