What we are doing
We will be carrying out ground penetrating surveys to help us identify the location of buried utility services, such as gas, electric or water. These surveys are non-intrusive, we will use a machine that transmits an electromagnetic pulse into the ground. These pulses reflect off features in the ground, allowing us to collect data and to understand the depth of the buried utility services.
Along with ground penetrating surveys, we will carry out several other surveys. For the safety of both our workforce and motorists, this work will require temporary overnight traffic lights on the A51 Nantwich Road to A525 Newcastle Road and Manor Road.
When the work will take place
We will start the ground penetrating survey work on Monday 29 November to Wednesday 1 December. Once this is complete, we will return in the new year to carry out additional surveys. To do this safely, we will need to use temporary traffic lights. We will send a further update about this work closer to the time.
How this will affect your journey
From Monday 29 November to Wednesday 1 December we will carry out the ground penetrating radar work using a vehicle pulling along a machine, causing little impact on motorists. Please be aware you may need to overtake the vehicle when safe to do so.
