Duration
Phase One:
Installation of a 4-way temporary traffic lights from Tuesday 6 January to Sunday 11 January 2026
Phase Two:
Full closure of Waste Lane on a 24/7 basis from 6am on Monday 12 January to 6pm on Sunday 8 February 2026
What we are doing
Completing utility diversions including new electrical, gas and water as well as completion of surfacing and drainage works.
What to expect
Access for residents will be managed by our traffic management team. It will not be possible to allow pedestrians and cyclists through the closure. There will be a fully signed diversion in place to help drivers navigate their way.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
