Due to adverse weather conditions delaying the reopening of Waste Lane, we will now close Lavender Hall Lane on Wednesday 11 February 2026 until Monday 30 November 2026. The closure will be in place 24 hours a day.
What we are doing
We are undertaking works to complete the new Lavender Hall Lane Overbridge and road realignment. Works include the relocation of utilities, earthworks, drainage works, kerbing and highway surfacing
works. We will also install a new box culvert to divert a local watercourse and install a crash barrier.
What to expect
Access for residents and businesses will be maintained. It will not be possible to allow pedestrians and cyclists through the closure. A fully signed diversion is in place.
HS2 is undergoing a comprehensive reset to ensure it can be built efficiently and for the lowest reasonable cost. This work is being carried out in stages and will be completed in 2026. We will provide you with updates on the reset and what this means for our plans to build the railway in your area.
