What we are doing
EKFB are building an access road from the A425 Leamington Road in Southam to the HS2 line near the River Itchen. The access road will be used for maintenance of the railway when it is in operation.
Over for a period of approximately 12 weeks from 26 February, we will be working either on, or close to the highway. The work will involve reenforcing utilities under the road and building a new road junction.
For the safety of highway users and our workforce, the A425 will have traffic management in the form of a single lane closure with two-way traffic lights.
When the access road from the A425 is completed, we will need to use it to deliver some of the materials and equipment required to build the River Itchen Viaduct. We will provide more information about this when our delivery plans are finalised.
When will these works take place?
UPDATE: The short section of the A425 Leamington Road will have traffic management, 24 hours a day from Monday 26 February to mid June 2024..
These dates may be subject to local authority consents and may change due to circumstances outside of our control, such as weather.
